Mr Porter Officially Open

After much hype the highly anticipated launch of Mr Porter has arrived. Over the weekend, founding members were given a sneak peek of what the site has to offer. We were able to browse and get ourselves into major trouble shopping for Margiela and Burberry and it was free shipping. I automatically felt my AMEX burning through my back pocket itching to rack up on some Lanvin.

Mr Porter is more than just another high-end e-commerce site that forces us to sell our organs on the black market in order to afford some price points. The genius thing about Mr Porter is that it fuses e-commerce shopping with content like, 'How To Wear' features you would find in the pages of say, GQ. For example, The Wardrobe Manager will provide an essential tool for those wishing to enhance their experience. It includes a feature entitled, "The Essentials," an edited list of thirty-two staples every man should have in his closet for spring/summer. Everything from white sneakers inspired by the iconic James Dean, to an image of Jean Cocteau wearing the staple formal shirt. Click 'Shop Now,' and available for purchase are the legendary Jack Purcells or formal shirts by Burberry, Paul Smith, and Mr. by Roland Mouret that even Monsieur Cocteau would fawn over. Mr Porter also dishes out style advice on your most pressing style questions on black tie, casual wear, or seasonal wear just to name a few.

In The Journal, which is a weekly magazine with comprehensive features, you will find interviews by todays 'Men of the Moment,' like financier CJ Guinness, motorcycle designer Ian Berry, and perfumer Ben Gorham. In addition to interviews, are editorial shots of these real men wearing Mr Porter labels, that of course, are available for purchase.

If you are lost and confused on the difference between Alpaca and Astrakhan(Broadtail in The US), do not fret because the Style Directory includes 'Stylepedia,' which provides A-Z on everything you need to know. You will also find 'Video Manuals' that feature short films by big deals in the business like Paul Smith discussing how to achieve a certain look, style advice gives the answers to dozens of sartorial conundrums, and "Style Council' provides insider tips by the worlds' most stylish.

Mr Porter is more than worth signing up and taking a look. I guarantee you will find something!

A Conscious Collection by H&M

This April, H&M will introduce A Conscious Collection as part of its focus on sustainability. The collection, which is for men, women and children is made from environmentally adapted and greener materials such as cotton, Tencel, and recycled polyester. "By designing recurring Conscious Collection we have the opportunity to show in a variety of ways what's possible using more sustainable fabrics," says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design at H&M. A minimalist collection in shades of white, which was all over the runways for spring, has a rather relaxed and preppy look for men. The men's collection consists of a white two-button blazer, collarless tees and Henley's, as well as, tanks for layering, and white five-pocket jeans and tailored white trousers.

If you have a beach wedding to attend this summer like I do this light and airy collection will be perfect for it. The Conscious Collection will be on sale at all H&M stores on April 14th.

Dror's Peacock Chair in Rhianna's 'S&M' Video

While watching Rhianna's new video, 'S&M,' which I am obsessed with, I noticed a very familiar chair by New York artist Dror Benshetrit. I remember seeing The Peacock Chair when it debuted in 2009 at New York design week and falling in love with it. I am a bit surprised the Peacock Chair has not been featured in more videos and fashion editorals. Rhianna of course looks amazing perched in the chair wearing a pink latex number devouring pink caramel popcorn.
