Designer Watch: Anzevino & Florence

Sometimes catastrophes become trophies, is the title of LA label Anzevino and Florence's Fall-Winter 09 collection, which uses unique silhouettes out of supple fabrics. The interactive, modular outfits made with ultra comfortable fabrics like Modal and Bamboo inspired by fencing garb, architecture, and tree bark, says William Anzevino and Richard Florence.

The duo met in 2000 when the Andy Warhol Museum commissioned them to design a line of tee's using his images, which featured obscure paintings, film stills and quotes created such a success for the designers it drove them to create their own brand which instantly caught the attention of Barneys New York, Ron Herman and Lane Crawford in Hong Kong. Anzevino and Florence's chill laid back aesthetic and excellent price-points draws me to the brand. The 'Hazmat' is one of the coolest pieces on the collection- a raw denim jacket with an exaggerated hood is sure to shield you from the wind on a chilly November day wont break the bank at $130. Neither will a sharp cut Gabardine blazer, which cost $92. A circular quilted hooded vest is also going on my list for fall- its the perfect layering piece for your fall Henley's.

Anzevino and Florence can be found at Oak and Opening Ceremony in New York.
