American Classic: Boat Shoes

Boat shoes have been an American classic since 1935 when Paul Sperry let out Prince, his cocker spaniel, and noticed how he remained stable on a full run on the snow covered ice. With a razor blade Paul Sperry cut siping into a robber-sole and the prototype of the first boat shoe was born. The Top-Sider is the standard for most sailors and is part of the US Naval Academy casual uniform. Many designers recreate the American classic choosing suede's, patents, and leather's in a variety of colors and combination. The boat shoe is the perfect summer shoe for its lightweight and comfort.
